The Parkside Hotel & Spa is committed to minimizing the hotel’s impact on the environment, and is in constant pursuit of its vision to exceed guest expectations in regards to environmental responsibility. With sustainable development in mind, The Parkside Hotel & Spa has been designed, built, and furnished with natural, recyclable, and regionally manufactured products. Key areas of focus The Parkside Hotel & Spa aims its sustainable efforts towards are waste management, energy and water conservation, indoor environmental quality, materials and resources, environmental pollutant reduction, and encouraging minimal transportation.
The Parkside Hotel & Spa’s waste management efforts consist of a dedicated underground area preserved for the collection of all recyclable materials. All guests of The Parkside Hotel & Spa are encouraged to recycle by access to recycling bins within every suite. Further, The Parkside Hotel uses a 68,500 gallon storm water tank collection system for non-potable irrigation purposes throughout the hotel.
To ensure efficient energy and water conservation, The Parkside Hotel & Spa has installed water-saving plumbing fixtures throughout. All suites feature progressive Energy Star rated appliances and electronics. Glass louvres have been installed on the exterior of The Parkside Hotel & Spa, which effectively block the sun’s rays at highest point to help maintain a comfortable temperature in the hotel while reducing overall energy consumption.
The Parkside Hotel & Spa monitors its indoor air quality through the use of CO2 sensors that regulate incoming outdoor air as required. Further, both towers in The Parkside Hotel have flow-through natural air conditioning. The Parkside Hotel & Spa strives for environmental excellence in its operations and employs green housekeeping practices. Only EcoLogo® certified cleaning products and green cleaning methods are utilized in The Parkside Hotel & Spa’s operation.
Designated underground parking spots equipped with electrical charging stations are available for the convenience of alternative fuel vehicles. Further, the Parkside Hotel & Spa has 46 bicycle racks and adjacent change rooms dedicated available to the hotel’s staff, retail visitors, and its residents.

than 50% of The Parkside Hotel & Spa’s total site area, inclusive of the rooftop gardens, houses native or adaptive vegetation. As well, the three-s
torey glass and green roof atrium, use of rock and stone in and around the building, and interior and exterior water features combine to bring the “inside out, and the outside in.”
Ultimately, The Parkside Hotel & Spa takes pride in offering guests a conscious choice in eco-friendly luxury. As a recently constructed hotel, The Parkside Hotel & Spa was built targeting many principles of the LEED® Platinum Certification and was awarded a 5 green key rating from the Hotel Association of Canada.
